Credit Voucher

A credit voucher is a specific type of voucher used in accounting to record transactions involving the receipt of cash or cash equivalents. Also known as a 'œReceipt Voucher,' it serves as documentation for transactions where payment is received.

There are two types of Credit Vouchers:

  • Bank Credit/Receipt Voucher: This type of credit voucher is used to record the receipt of cash in hand. It indicates that funds have been deposited in the bank.
  • Cash Credit/Receipt Voucher: This voucher records the receipt of cheques or demand drafts. It signifies that payment has been made through non-cash means.
