Talent
Individuals innate qualities or knowledge that give them the ability to perform extraordinarily well in their roles and contribute considerably to the firms success is called talent.
Talented employees are valuable to organizations for several reasons
- They perform at a high level and consistently produce high-quality work.
- They can assess issues, identify solutions, and effectively implement them.
- They come up with new ideas and look for methods to improve processes and goods.
- Represent the organization well.
Two key aspects to talent are
- Natural abilities: These are innate or inborn skills and aptitudes that predispose an individual to excel in a certain area. Eg. Cognitive abilities, communication skills, and emotional intelligence.
- Expertise: This refers to acquired skills and knowledge developed through experience, training, and education.
