DISCRIMINATION
Discrimination
Discrimination refers to the unfair or unequal treatment of individuals or groups based on certain characteristics, attributes, or factors that are unrelated to their abilities or qualifications. This mistreatment can occur in various aspects of employment, such as hiring, promotion, compensation, training, and termination. Discrimination can take several forms, and there are different types of discrimination recognized in the workplace. Discrimination can occur during the hiring process. The individuals may be denied employment opportunities. This can also extend to promotions, pay equity, and other employment-related decisions. A discriminatory workplace environment can include offensive language, jokes, or behavior that creates a hostile or unwelcome atmosphere for certain groups of employees. Discrimination can also take the form of harassment. Harassment can be physical, verbal, or sexual in nature.
