EDLI or Employees Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme is an insurance scheme provided by the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) for private-sector employees who are members of the EPF. It provides life insurance coverage to employees in case of their untimely death while in service.
Criterion
- All employees covered under the EPF scheme are automatically eligible for EDLI.
- There is no minimum salary requirement for EDLI coverage.
- The maximum salary considered for calculating EDLI benefits is Rs. 15,000 per month.
