TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT
Training and Development
The process of teaching specific skills and knowledge to employees to improve their job performance is called training. It is often a short-term and focused activity designed to address specific needs or gaps in an individuals skill set. Classroom-based education, on-the-job training, workshops, e-learning, simulations, and hands-on activities are all examples of training approaches.
A broader and more long-term process aimed at preparing employees for future responsibilities and challenges is called Development. Overall growth and career advancement of individuals within the organization are the primary aim of development opportunities. Mentoring, coaching, job rotations, leadership programs, formal schooling, and self-directed learning are examples of development activities.
Both training and development are essential for maintaining a skilled and adaptable workforce.
